Maternal Health Fireside Chat

Maternal Health Fireside Chat

According to the CDC, black maternal mortality is more than a problem for black women; it's a public health crisis. Black women are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women. The causes of this disparity are complex and multi-layered, but they include systemic racism, implicit bias in the healthcare system, and lack of access to quality care. We cannot solve this crisis without a comprehensive and intersectional approach that addresses the underlying causes.

This is why HIT Like A Girl Pod, in collaboration with DREAM BIG, hosted a Black Maternal Mortality Fireside chat on April 14th to discuss the root causes of this crisis and brainstorm solutions.
