ASCO Heard in the Halls: Dr. James Hamrick on Multi-Modal Data & the Future of AI in Oncology

Grace Vinton sits down with James Hamrick, MD, MPH, Chairman of the Caris Precision Oncology Alliance™, live from ASCO.

Dr. Hamrick's mission is clear: how important it is to share molecular data to drive the science of cancer forward. What has him most energized right now is multi-modal data - the convergence of molecular studies, digital pathology, and clinical data - into powerful decision tools that give physicians both prognostic and predictive insights into how patients will respond to interventions and therapies.

The results are already showing up in some of oncology's toughest tumor types. Advances in pancreatic cancer are finally making headway, and the Caris Precision Oncology Alliance presented 32 posters across 10 tumor types at ASCO this year driven by a more comprehensive approach through whole genome sequencing.

Looking ahead, Dr. Hamrick is excited about where AI takes us next: building data systems that understand disease at a fundamental level, with a richness we've never had access to before and ultimately, delivering better therapy selection for every patient.

The data is getting smarter. And so is cancer care.
